Seaside man hospitalized after massive house fire.

UPDATE: The man taken to hospital last night after a house he rented in Westminster Court in Seaside was released later, but Seaside Fire Battalion Chief Troy Leist the house, which lost two-and-a-half room and most of the attic in the blaze, is uninhabitable.

The exact cause of the fire is still unknown, but Leist says it was not fireworks-related.

While fireworks exploded over Seaside on Fourth of July, one man was taken to the hospital after a massive fire broke out at the house he rented.

As medics attended to him, he was yelling, "They burned my f*****g house down!"

According to Seaside Fire Battalion Chief Troy Leist, just before 10pm, fire crews from Seaside, Monterey and Presidio of Monterey were called to Westminster Court off Yosemite Street in response to a large fire that broke out between two homes.

So far, there was only one person reported injured and it remains unclear how severe his injuries were.

Leist says the cause of the fire is unknown at this moment and could not say if fireworks were to blame for the flames.

However, about 10 Seaside police officers arrived to the fire scene after patrolling for illegal fireworks. By 10pm, officers had already confiscated "trunkfuls" of fireworks, Cmdr. Nick Borges says.
