There are still tickets available for the inaugural First City Festival at the Monterey County Fairgrounds on August 24 and 25. While there's been some negative talk surrounding the $149.50 price tag for a 2-day ticket, there are several ways to view that price in a different light. Firstly, if it's broken down, admission comes out to be about $5 per band. Also, the Fairgrounds is more of an intimate setting than most of the other spots where you'd usually have to go to experience big-time acts like Modest Mouse and Passion Pit, who recently played Madison Square Garden.
In addition to the impressive roster of well-known names, FCF has also put together a lineup including gems that are lesser-known in the mainstream. Here's a taste:
