The 25th Sea Otter Classic makes history in some eye-popping ways.

You know it's an occasion when Sierra Nevada Brewing Company rolls out its beer-and-bike-pedal-powered trolley.

And when the pioneering craft brewery develops a special beer just for that occasion, you know it's a historic one. 

This weekend's Subaru Sea Otter Classic certainly deserves it.

A quarter century ago participants far outnumbered the audience and the number of exhibitors and journalists totalled…zero.

This year more than 65,000 will watch some 9,600 compete in dirt downhill races, absurd aerial stunts, corkscrew-hugging road races, while fans make endless discoveries in the expo and hang out in the sweet trick area.
