The latest news concerning Monterey Downs, the controversial residential and horse park development planned on 550 acres of the former Fort Ord, will be presented to Seaside City Council at the upcoming council meeting on March 20.
Among the items discussed will be administrative draft specific Psan (ADSP) which the city first received from the developers in May 2013. City staff provided comments on the plan, and are still awaiting the applicant to submit a revised ADSP.
An update on the project's environment impact report (EIR), which is still not completed, will also be presented to council. The city contracted with RBF Consulting to draft the report, who began submitting sections of the draft EIR as early as September, only to have it stall when the RBF project manager and assistant project manager working on the report left the company in December. RBF put a new project management team together in January of this year.
According the item description in the council meeting agenda packet, city staff has been communicating with RBF about the report nearly every day. Staff will also be presenting council with a revised schedule for the report.
