On Feb. 28, the Marina City Council unanimously appointed Jenny McAdams to fill a vacancy for the District 3 council seat. It became vacant on Jan. 28 after Cristina Medina Dirksen’s resignation.
“[McAdams] was unanimously selected by the City Council because she has vast experience with our region’s issues and governance as well as being an involved parent in Marina who is often seen around town,” said Mayor Bruce Delgado in a press release.
McAdams was selected from a pool of five candidates. She is the mother of three, works at the Monterey County Business Council and was a Pacific Grove City Council member for four years, from 2018-2022.
“I felt a strong calling to contribute to the well-being of Marina's residents. When the opportunity arose, given my experience, it felt like the perfect fit for me to apply,” McAdams said in a press release.
McAdams is a newcomer to Marina, where she has lived for a year, and is a member of the Marina Planning Commission and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force.
McAdams will be sworn in during the council meeting on Tuesday, March 5. McAdams’ appointment is for the remainder of Medina Dirksen’s term, which ends in November.
