After sunny and fertile Carmel Valley finally got its first farmers market this spring, that satisfied a long-overdue hunger and brought the county's total markets to 15.

More importantly, local farm-fresh-type folks now have every single day of the week covered—and at least two going five days a week—with Friday working as a highlight thanks to both the valley's and MPC's standout.

Here's the current rundown of markets. Look to the upcoming issue for an adventure conducted by Weekly contributor and amateur farmers market shopper Thomas Gray, in which he tries to do a multi-course gourmet meal for two, from scratch, for $30.
