Follow-up: What do you do on a daily basis to relax?
Asked at Del Monte Shopping Center
DAVID WU | Student | Monterey
A: When I get a big workload at school, like a lot of essays at once. It makes me tense.
Hoop Dreams: Playing basketball. When I’m doing it, I’m mindful of all the motions and it’s very relaxing.
DESERIE NOGUERIA | Student | Seaside
A: Drivers who are super slow in the fast lane. I don’t get closer to them, but instead I just yell in my car.
Brush Strokes: I like painting, especially in watercolor. It helps me release my feelings.
ALAN OCHOA | Line Cook | Marina
A: Low-key racism. I was at a Monterey restaurant with some friends. We spoke in Spanish and the table next to us left suddenly without finishing their food.
Water Lines: Long walks on Monterey trails. Seeing the coast and smelling the sea reminds me I’m free.
