Erik Chalhoub here. I’ve got to be short today. Shoot, I’ve already taken up too many words.
The submission deadline for the Weekly’s annual 101-Word Short Story Contest is quickly approaching: Nov. 29 by 5pm. You can read more about the rules here (the short of it: stories must be 101 words, or fewer, and must contain the word “free”).
Brevity may sound easy, but it’s difficult in practice. Heck, I’ve trimmed many sentences already. Probably should’ve cut that one. Or this. D’oh.
It’s an excellent exercise for effective efficiency. We’re looking forward to seeing your concise creativity.
