UPDATE: Evacuation orders spread to Big Sur, Highway 1 remains open.

UPDATE 08/08/2016 10AM: Palo Colorado residents are being allowed back into the area, but proof of residency and photo ID is required to pass through. The evacuation order for Princess Camp, on Cachagua Road between Nason Road to Trampa Canyon Road, has been reduced to a warning. 

The Soberanes Fire jumped a key fire line on the southwest flank in north Big Sur Saturday night, fueled by sustained 20mph winds and higher gusts, triggering a mandatory evacuation order for some Big Sur residents around 3am, according to Cal Fire. Alert Monterey issued the mandatory evacuation orders by using the Alert Monterey system, calling phone numbers in the 911 database.

The evacuation orders as of Monday morning include:

• Residents living east of Highway 1 starting at Coast Road to Graves Canyon. 

The following have been modified from an evacuation order to a warning as of Monday morning. The areas includes:

• All residents west of Highway 1 starting at Andrew Molera State Park from Coast Road to Graves Canyon.
• Cachagua Road from Nason Road to Trampa Canyon Road. 

Road closures:Apple Pie Ridge Road, Pfeiffer Ridge Road, Sycamore Canyon Road, Palo Colorado Road and the Old Coast Ridge are closed.

Highway 1 remains open in both directions.

Evacuation orders have been lifted for:

• Weston Ridge Road (aka Garrapatos Road);
• White Rock, Robinson Canyon Road, South of San Clemente Trail from Robinson Canyon to Rancho San Clemente Gate House;
• From San Clemente Trail to White Rock Gun Club Santa Lucia Preserve
• The community of San Clemente and all of Long Ridge Trail, Riley Ranch Road and Red Wolf Drive;
• All of Carmel Highlands.

As of Sunday morning, containment of the nearly 60,000-acre blaze is at 45 percent.
