Looking to get the first dibs on new technology for your business? Inventors at the Naval Postgraduate School have products they want to pitch to you.
The Monterey military university’s first-ever “Reverse Pitch” event takes place July 23 from 2-4:30pm at its campus’ Bullard Hall, where faculty and alumni will be on hand with their inventions and share information to interested parties, with the hope that industries will pick them up and license them for their operations.
These include a new type of diving suit that uses ceramic and glass to boost flexibility and warmth for the user. There’s also the small, spherical autonomous vehicle that can explore confined underwater spaces, and a drone attachment that jams other nearby drones, clearing airspace.
The five technologies on display and being pitched can apply to a variety of industries, said Kaitie Penry, director of Emerging Tech & Innovation at NPS.
Representatives of businesses, from startups to established institutions, are invited to attend, she said, as well as venture capitalists.
“They’re very excited to get their ideas out there and have other people be interested in them and want to continue growing these products,” Penry said during the County of Monterey’s weekly media briefing on July 9.
Those interested in attending must register by July 11 to obtain access to NPS. For information and to register, visit fleetwerx.org/opportunities-new/reverse-pitch-day.
