U.S. Reps. Jimmy Panetta, D-Carmel Valley, and Zoe Lofgren, D-San Jose, were both re-elected in the November 2026 election.

In the state races for the U.S. Congress and the California Assembly, incumbents took home the wins in all the local districts, including State Assembly Districts 29 and 30, won by Assembly members Robert Rivas and Dawn Addis, and Congressional Districts 18 and 19, won by Rep. Zoe Lofgren and Rep. Jimmy Panetta, respectively.

“I am deeply honored and humbled that the people of California’s 19th Congressional District again elected me to represent them in the United States Congress,” said Panetta in a statement. “With our agency, we must now set the agenda and provide answers for Americans when it comes to the issues of affordability and accountability. Living up to our Constitutional responsibilities and our system of checks and balances, we will legislate to bring down the cost of living, and, at the same time, we will investigate any and all misdeeds by this Administration."

In the tentative vote counts from the Monterey County Elections Department, in the race for the 19th Congressional District, Panetta received about 34,500 votes or about 74% of the total—while the Republican challenger Peter Coe Verbica received about 12,200 votes or 26% of the total votes tallied so far.

In the 18th District, Lofgren, who announced that she would be seeking the Chair of the House Science Committee, received 23,400 or about 73% of the votes counted so far. Lofgren’s challenger Shane Lewis received about 8,700 votes or 27% of the total.

“I’m so proud of the millions of Americans who cast their votes over the last few weeks to make their voices heard. Regardless of who you voted for, the new Democratic majority in the House is committed to lowering your costs, protecting your health care, and defending your rights," said Lofgren in a statement. “There’s a big mess in Washington that must be cleaned up, and it’s going to take a united and focused House Democratic caucus to fix the issues our country faces. Let’s get to work and get this country back on track.”

In the State Assembly’s 29th District, Rivas won roughly 72% of the votes, or approximately 27,000, while challenger Dennis P. Sanchez received about 10,500 votes or about 28% of the current Monterey County tally. In District 30, Addis received about 29,000 votes or roughly 71%. Republican candidate Shannon Kessler received about 12,000 votes or 29% of the total.
