Alisal Car Show

The 2025 AHS Welcome Parade features the AHS Trojan alongside principal Christina Perez.

Residents from Salinas and the surrounding cities who own a low rider or a classic or custom automobile and would like to showcase it to the community, may consider registering the vehicle at the inaugural car show at Alisal High School taking place on Sunday, May 17.

The free event, located at 777 Williams Road in Salinas, hosted by the Alisal High School Rotary Interact Club takes place from 9am-3pm, uniting the community through live performances, food vendors and a collection of unique cars.

“The vendors include baked potatoes, chamoy candies, tacos, frutas, antojitos, baked goods, and matcha,” says Jazlene Meza, president of the Alisal High School Interact Club. “We are also having local retail vendors selling jewelry, toys and other handmade items.”

The school’s Rotary Interact Club is a student-led community service organization that focuses on leadership, volunteerism and giving back both locally and globally.

Although the event is free for people to attend and view the vehicles, people who register their car will have to pay a pre-registration fee of $20. Those who register their vehicle the day of, will pay $35. Participants can register their vehicles to be judged in various categories including classic, modern, modified or custom, lowrider and truck. Trophies will be awarded to top entries.

All net proceeds from the event will benefit the school’s club, and its joint project with Palma School to help rebuild a school that was severely damaged in Ukraine.

“We’re excited to bring together students, families, local car enthusiasts, and anyone from the community for an event that celebrates both car culture and school spirit,” Meza says.

The presenting sponsor for the event is Rubio Mortgage & Realty located in North Salinas.
