Graham Yost is a Hollywood hotshot who doesn’t want to be known as such. (Paraphrasing here: “I just don’t want to be known as that Hollywood asshole,” he says by way of gently declining an interview.) But the Emmy-winning Carmel Valley resident wrote the screenplay for Speed, helped write the epics Band of Brothers, From the Earth to the Moon and The Pacific, and brings the smokin’ hot Timothy Olyphant to the masses as Elmore Leonard character U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens in the series Justified. (If that’s not enough, the new FX series The Americans is Yost’s too.) Olyphant, frankly, could just stand there and people would watch; thanks to Yost’s witty dialogue and steady hand as the series “showrunner,” he does much more than that.
