  • May 10 marks the return of “Thursdays in the Courtyard” at Aubergine, not coincidentally on a Thursday. Enjoy a special salon menu from chef Justin Cogley and team in the outdoor courtyard.   • Because it’s a good cause. Carmel Road Winery teams up with Cannery Row’s Louie Linguini restaurant for a special benefit for CASA of Monterey County on May 11, 6-9pm. The evening begins with a hosted cocktail hour, followed by a four-course dinner. $85. Tickets at casaofmonterey.org.
  • Joullian Vineyards hosts its third annual “Cellar Soiree” at the winery in Cachagua on May 12, 5-9pm. The evening includes a five-course dinner catered by chef Jerome Viel with wine pairings from Joullian’s library. $100, includes a complimentary bottle of Monterey Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvignon.   • Get ready for Mother’s Day with Tancredi & Morgen’s pop-up shop on Saturday, May 12, 12-5pm. Pastry chef Siew-Chinn Chin – an alum of Berkeley’s Chez Panisse and Oakland’s Ramen Shop – will have a selection of specialty treats for sale, including caramel truffles, macarons, canelés, chocolates, jams, and pickles. Yes, pickles. Local mixologist Katie Shea will offer complimentary spritzers and samples of new seasonal bitters and tonics from Golden Bear Bitters. 7174 Carmel Valley Rd.

  • Eddison & Melrose continues spring classes at the Oats n’ Scones Cottage in Pacific Grove, hosting “For the Love of Elderberry” with Carmel Berry Company’s Katie Reneker on Tuesday, May 15, 6-7pm. Learn about the antioxidant-rich (that’s what makes it so hip) elderberry and sample recipes highlighting Carmel Berry Company’s elderberry syrup and cordial. $25. 601-4851.
  • Natividad Medical Center kicks off a certified farmers market on Wednesday, May 16 to promote wellness and healthy eating (we’ve heard there is such a thing). Look for the market Wednesdays from 11am-3:30pm outside Natividad’s Out Patient Services (1441 Constitution Blvd., building 200). The farmers market also features cooking demos and tastings.   • Just in time for summer, Salt Wood Kitchen & Oysterette has launched a new “Sunset Sessions” menu. Look for select cocktails for $9, wines by the glass for $7, and bottled beers for $5. Executive chef David Baron has also debuted new happy hour bar bites, including fava bean hummus with fried pita ($3), sweet potato poutine with chorizo queso ($5) and rockfish ceviche ($6). Available 3-6pm Monday-Friday and 3-5pm Saturday-Sunday. Leaves you time to watch the sunset.
  • Il Vecchio has unveiled a new lunch menu featuring pasta picks like rigatoni with meat ragù, penne puttanesca, farfalle with mushrooms, and penne carbonara for $11.50 and new grilled and stuffed focaccias ($10-13). All items include an artisan greens salad. Lunch served daily 12-1:30pm, weekend lunch adds breakfast selections and select entrees.
  • Revival Ice Cream has extended hours for summer. The Monterey scoop shop is now open noon-10pm Sunday-Thursday and noon-11pm Friday and Saturday to satisfy your late-night sweet tooth.
  • New coffee shop Captain + Stoker has changed its hours. The downtown Monterey spot is now open 6:30am-4pm Monday-Friday and 7am-5pm Saturday-Sunday.
