Paul Sciuto was dealing with a literal shitstorm yesterday in Pacific Grove, where a busted valve caused raw sewage to flow from a pump station into the federally protected waters of Monterey Bay.
But the Monterey Regional Water Pollution Control Agency's deputy general manager can look forward to an office upgrade in the near future.
Sciuto has been appointed the PCA's new general manager, replacing longtime General Manager Keith Israel when Israel retires June 19 after 27 years with the agency. Both Israel and Sciuto have confirmed the retirement and promotion, respectively, with the Weekly.
Before beginning work at PCA, according to CPS HR Consulting, Sciuto was assistant general manager of the South Tahoe Public Utility District for 11 years.
