UPDATED: Monterey mayoral candidate Vince Malfitano outraises incumbent

The latest campaign finance disclosure forms for the Nov. 3 election show candidate Vince Malfitano outraising incumbent Tyller Williamson by about $10,000.

The latest year-to-date totals for 2026 show that Williamson's campaign has raised $27,863, compared to Malfitano's campaign raising $38,725.

In the previous filing period, which spanned from Jan. 1 to June 30, 2026, Malfitano’s campaign raised about $23,400, with contributions from about 70 donors ranging from about $100 to $600. In that period, Malfitano’s campaign reported expenditures of about $8,500, which included payments for printing campaign materials and with the largest expenditure of $2,000 paid to Political Data: PDI Intelligence.

According to the campaign finance disclosure statement filed by Malfitano’s campaign on Sept. 24, his campaign neither received any donations nor did it make any expenditures from July 1 to Sept. 19. Despite reporting no expenditures, Vince Malfitano’s campaign bought a political advertisement in Monterey County Weekly, which was paid for on Sept. 8, 2026.

After submitting an amended campaign disclosure form on Sept. 28, 2026, Malfitano's campaign reported a total of $15,329 in contributions, yet only $600 in non-monetary expenditures.  

According to the finance disclosure statement, filed on Sept. 23, 2026, by Tyller Williamson for Monterey Mayor 2026, the campaign has received about $28,000 in contributions from Jan. 1 to Sept. 19, 2026. In the latest filing period, roughly 60 individuals donated to Williamson’s campaign with amounts ranging from $100 to $600.

Williamson's campaign reports show about $9,000 spent year to date, with larger expenditures to Community Printers for about $4,500 and about $1,100 to Monterey County Weekly for an advertisement, among others.
