An 18-year-old man was shot and killed in Salinas' Closter Park July 2.
At around 2:15pm police found Miguel Angel Chavez-Zavala, who had been shot multiple times, unconscious and having difficulty breathing. He was taken to Natividad Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Police say it looks as though Chavez-Zavala was sitting on a set of bleachers when he was approached and fired upon. Witnesses report seeing numerous people running from the park after the shooting.
Police ask anyone with information to call 758-7147 or report anonymously at 775-4222.
