Steve Collins sues just about everyone in federal civil rights complaint.

I decided to do some research, read Collins e-mail and the Federal complaint. Very interesting. I find the County and Cal Am's responses also interesting. The County says "we do not and will not have comment on this matter". They had plenty of comments when they were on offense and owned the press; now that 2 Supervisors are facing criminal indictment and lawsuits, there is no need to comment. Interesting. And Ms. Stedman, the 2nd Cause of Action is regarding Cal Am for Fraud and Conspiracy. Tell your legal folks to read the Complaint again. Folks, Complaints simply assert, they are not the format for infinite detail. That is what pleadings, points and authorities, etc are for. Nice try on setting up a defense, Ms. Stedman.
Judge Karnow seems like a bright thoughtful man in his writings and decisions. Collins testimony in the Civil matter, will most likely show a pattern of Perjury on the part of the County (I have not seen Collins deposition) and the one remaining claim on the part of the County between victory by them or owning Marina Coast $18.5M is the assertion that NO ONE in the County knew of Collins RMC contract until April, 2011. Are you kidding me????? Even the criminal trial Judge said that was a bunch of malarkey.
I was just kidding when I wrote some time ago that if this current bunch of Boobs at the BOS had been in charge in WW2, we would have bombed sheep in Scotland instead of the Germans. Now I am not so sure.
By the way, if Marina Coast prevails it is highly likely that the Regional Project is back on line, 3 years later and millions of wasted dollars, all for the ego and pocketbooks of two Supervisors. Tragic

Hi, oldguy49...Glad your back...Just wait until the folks in Prunedale discover how badly their representative has hosed them in favor of his good buddy Lombardo and Cal Am..It's just taken a while, actually, to fit all the rotten pieces together...Just too bad that Collins had to be the lynch pin in all of this so as to put a halt to a perfectly good project, that by now would have almost been ready to be producing the requisite 10,000 ac/ft of water mandated by the State Water Resource Board...Oh Well...Everyone seems to have lost sight of that fact..Cal Am still doesn't have the permits, still might be facing lawsuits with the Salinas Valley farmers and ad nausea, all for the sake of taking it away from MCWD and putting it into the hands of Cal Am...Oh what a tangled web we weave....

Granny, I am back. I go visit my Granddaughter and all hell breaks loose. I have one main comment; IT IS ABOUT DAMN TIME!!!! This trial process was a complete sham and it is now about to be exposed. By the way, the dollar amounts in the Complaint are no more than placeholders, per my son (a retired Jurist) and the real money is in punitive and other categories anyway. Collins will do his community service, while Calcagno will be covering his butt on a Federal criminal indictment. Justice is a dish best served cold.
The County of Monterey and the rest of this bunch will now have to fight on a level playing field where Constitutional Rights actually have some meaning. No more "Judge swapping", no more "SLAPP suits", no more withholding of exculpatory evidence.
I hope the public understands and has an appreciation for how much courage and fortitude it takes to be the little guy fighting against big government. Mr. Collins, you have my respect. I only wish I knew a "60 Minutes" executive; anyone out there know one?
How did Cal Am and Calcagno actually think they could get away with a Laguna Seca pipeline of Salinas Valley water? You can not make this stuff up. Wait until the Farm Bureau gets wind of this one.
And Bauman tells the District Attorney "this can not go public" when discussing screwing Marina Coast? You think???

Correction, Sara..It's 5 million per entity, a sizable sum...I've read the PR put out by Collins and Calcagno really did a number on the Prundale residents in his own District by the transfer of water that should have gone to them to water Tony Lombardo's Laguna Seca Golf Course..It was the only way Cal Am could make it fit..Ought to run him,(Calcagno), out on a rail..And it was illegal Salinas Valley Water to boot...Then one sees boob, Bauman meeting with the BOS, Cal Am and AWC in secret to "restructure" the Regional Project to remove Marina Coast and insert Cal Am into the position of constructing a desal plant...They threw Collins under the bus to put a halt to the whole thing to stop it and then continued with their EVIL, EVIL, EVIL plot..As oldguy49 once put it, kind of makes the City of Bell look like an accounting error doesn't it???

Wow, more secrets meetings, 5th amendment pleadings and a circling of the wagons ahead on this one! I support Steve in his attempt to expose the corrupt and dishonorable Supervisors and County staff. Most employees of the County are aware of the corruption but are spineless and gutless and will not do the right thing. PERS at 55 for working in the stressful employment in government, lying, cheating and duping the citizens of Monterey County.
