Soledad health care district to offer mobile mammography services as it searches for a permanent technician.

It’s been a challenge to find a permanent mammography technologist for the Soledad Community Health Care District, so district officials have entered into a partnership to expand the service in Soledad this fall through a mobile service.

The partnership includes the Central California Alliance for Health and Alinea Medical Imaging, an affiliate of Rezolut Mobile, to provide 2-D digital mammography services once a month from September to December in the SCHCD parking lot at 612 Main St., Soledad.

The first mammography event is 8am to 5pm, Friday, Sept. 4. It repeats on Oct. 23, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18. It’s open to women ages 40-74 and the cost depends on the type of insurance someone carries. Eligible CCAH members with CCAH as their primary coverage may qualify for a $50 gift card.

“Access to preventative care is especially important in the rural communities we serve, where traveling outside the area for health care can create additional barriers for patients,” said Ida Lopez Chan, CEO of SCHCD, in a press release.

“Bringing mobile mammography services directly to our community allows us to continue connecting women with an important preventative screening while we work toward restoring our permanent mammography services," she said.
