Both the tubed meats and the potato salad at Nuernberg’s German Sausages rivaled any in the area.

Nuernberger’s German Sausages was as tasty as it was unique to Monterey, dishing authentic old-world bratwursts, delicious schnitzel and earthy potato salad.

It was good enough to earn a place on my best new Monterey County restaurants for 2016, placing fifth.

But the bottom line wasn't enough for Rainer Nuerenberger to justify hanging in there, particularly when he can make several day's restaurant profits with one farmers market appearance.

So he's relocating to the Bay Area to focus on that.

Be sure to visit Tudor Wines in the Court of the Fountains at Mission and 7th, Carmel by the Sea. Tudor Wines is the Premier Venue in Carmel and the only place that's both dog friendly and where you can dine while tasting 90+ point Santa Lucia Highlands and Monterey county pinot and Rieslings. Tudor Wines also has a beautiful new tasting room in downtown Paso Robles. [beam][beam][beam][beam][thumbup][thumbup][spam]
