Carmel is getting a new bar and grill. Really.

Alert the Carmel Residents Association!

The former Le St. Tropez will become Mulligan Public House, from the same team who ran Brophy's Tavern before it sold, led by Erin Reimer.

Plans for the remodel went to the city Monday.

They look promising, with a big 11-seat bar along the longest wall, to the right as you walk in from Dolores Street.

A bunch of six-tops will fill the other side of the space.

Twelve taps will flow drafts like Guinness, Harp, Firestone and Ratel Cider.

Flatscreen TVs will bring the sports.

A lot of the Brophy's menu will persist, including the Philly, sliders, nachos and wings.

New items will include a bacon flight (with beer pairings), an "Irish clam pot" over mashed potatoes, Alaskan king crab legs and things that take advantage of the pizza oven.

Mulligan will also do prime rib Fridays.

The biggest surprise is the property enjoys a sizable patio for a beer garden.

The current copper bar will migrate out there, where a fire pit also awaits.

Conservative open date is by the end of the month.

Reimer is returning 100 percent of the front of the house and around 80 percent on back of house.

"I'm so excited about getting my regulars back," she says, "and just getting our family back together."

I will definitely take a Mulligan.
