After closing along with Highway 1, Big Sur Bakery looks to make a triumphant return in November.

Big Sur Bakery will reopen very soon, according to co-owner Mike Gilson.

He is coy about further details.

Here’s hoping it opens in time for Big Sur Food & Wine, happening this Thursday, Nov. 2-5, starting at the remade and renamed Ventana Big Sur.

An important note there: The Friday and Saturday events at Henry Miller Library (A Return to the Big Sur Jazz Festival and Wine & Swine) have been cancelled due to nasty rain forecasts.

Guests can email elsa.bsfw@gmail.com for refunds or any questions.
