Lewis Black is funny when he is angry and that’s why people like him.
He spoke to Weekly writer Adam Joseph recently about it.
“[The audience] has been frustrated a lot longer than me,” says Black.
Last night, the Maryland-native comedian made a second appearance at the Golden State Theatre in downtown Monterey.
Black has been a regular on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and often rants about politics, religion, and, well, anything that makes him angry.
At a nearly full house last night, Black went off on his recent tour to Europe, mental and health issues and President Obama.
“Well, at least somebody’s talking to us now. At least if I am getting f****d, I’ve got a soothing voice to go with it,” he told the Weekly.
Black's longtime friend John Bowman opened the night with an equally-angry act.
