The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Monterey County is bringing veterinary care directly to South Monterey County communities during the months of June and July, where families and their pets will have access to affordable services through mobile clinics in Gonzales, Greenfield and King City.

"We want to help you keep your furry friends safe during all your summer adventures. That’s why our SPCA clinics are offering free microchipping with any spay or neuter at our mobile unit,” says SPCA Monterey County Clinic Practice Manager Ashley Fessenden. “We want to encourage everyone to come to our walk-in clinics to get them fully vaccinated and protected before you head out on vacation.”

Since opening its veterinary clinic in 1976, SPCA Monterey County has spayed and neutered more than 195,000 animals. Last year alone, the organization completed 8,258 local surgeries.

From 9am-1pm on Saturday, June 13, dog and cat owners can go to the Gonzales Police Department at 109 4th St. for a walk-in wellness clinic offering vaccinations, microchips and deworming. Vaccines are $25 and a dewormer is $5.

Mobile spay and neuter clinics will be available in King City at 401 Division St. on June 17 and July 22, and in Greenfield on July 2 at 215 El Camino Real. Surgeries are available to healthy pets between two months and six years of age, weighing between two and 30 pounds and cost $75 for dogs and puppies and $35 for cats and kittens. These prices include the surgery and a rabies vaccination.
