When it comes to high cuisine, the culinary throng loves to say, “You eat first with your eyes.”
At the weekend’s sixth annual Pebble Beach Food & Wine, that certainly applied to star Southwestern chef Dean Fearing’s bacon-wrapped jalapeño quail, New Orleans icon Susan Spicer’s duck-and-cashew-spread brioche and, for many ladies, celeb chefs Tyler Florence and Fabio Viviani.
But it also applied to the partygoers, eaters and extroverts traversing the various grand tastings, lawn parties and deluxe lunches. Their elaborate outfits provided key eye epicurea for the fashion famished.
