Porsche Penske Motorsport’s GTP machines return to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in a strong position. The team cars finished first and second a year ago, and the no. 7 Porsche 963 piloted by Julian Andlauer and Felipe Nasr sits atop the 2026 leaderboard.

A year ago, Nick Persing swept both Lamborghini Super Trofeo races at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca—the second by a paper-thin 0.006 of a second over teammate Danny Formal. This year, the driver of the No. 1 Wayne Taylor Racing machine returns, hoping to improve on those results.

With Monterey Bay FC’s woes continuing, the team announced on Wednesday morning, April 29, that head coach Jordan Stewart was out. He is replaced by Alex Covelo, according to a press statement released moments later.
