The Monterey County Sheriff has opened new Community Field Office (CFO) in Carmel Valley, and at rent two-thirds less than its previous CFO.
In a statement from the Carmel Valley Village Improvement Committee (CVVIC), which pays the rent for the CFO, Sheriff Scott Miller says his team likes the new office and its private entrance. “You get more Sheriff time by having this office in the Village,” he says in the statement.
The office, like the last CFO, allows the sheriff and deputies to conduct interviews with local crime victims, write reports, securely access the county's computer network, and use the facilities without making lengthy drives across the county.
CVVIC has paid the rent for the CFO since it opened in 2009, and will use savings from the reduced rent to fund ongoing garden and pathway projects.
