For decades, the Life Time Sea Otter Classic has been a mecca for all things biking. But it’s not afraid to switch things up every once in awhile, and its offerings for 2026 show that.

In a first, the Sea Otter Classic is introducing 5K and 17K trail runs for next year’s event, announced recently. It’s also expanding to Toro County Park for two stages of the Enduro competition, just down the road from its main venue at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and Fort Ord National Monument.

Sarah Stutman, Associate Marketing Director of Off Road Events at Life Time, says organizers have noticed many participants through the years out running in the mornings to get warmed up for the day’s activities.

We wanted to create an official experience for them that builds on Sea Otter’s celebration of all things outdoors,” she says. “It’s a natural fit—many cyclists run and vice-versa.”

Runners will have two options: a 10.6-mile lap through Fort Ord National Monument and a 2.8-mile loop. Each route finishes on the Laguna Seca raceway track.

The trail run continues the Sea Otter Classic’s tradition of adding “unexpected” events, Stutman says, such as grass volleyball, sunrise yoga, roller skating and duathlons in past years.

Also new for 2026 is the addition of Toro Park for stages 3 and 4 of the Enduro competition, as well as e-bike categories.

We're always looking for ways to elevate the athlete experience, and Toro Park’s incredible terrain is a perfect fit for stages 3 and 4 of the Enduro,” Stutman says. “As the Life Time Sea Otter Classic continues to grow, we're committed to managing our venues sustainably and Toro Park, just down the road, lets us tap into additional trails while helping reduce the strain on our primary course areas.”

Registration for the general public opens Oct. 7. The Sea Otter Classic runs April 16-19, 2026.
