Caltrans Garden Road facility

Caltrans' Garden Road facility in Monterey is shown, where workers allegedly held a retirement party with a stripper and alcohol.

Ten Caltrans employees in Monterey were served with termination notices for their role in a party during work hours that reportedly included a stripper and alcohol.

Two others were suspended, according to Caltrans spokesperson Matt Rocco.

The alleged actions of the July 10 party were outlined in an anonymous letter sent to KSBW, according to the outlet.

The retirement party, held at Caltrans’ highway maintenance station on Garden Road in Monterey, allegedly included employees throwing money at a stripper. Some employees were also drinking alcohol and drove away in Caltrans vehicles, according to the letter.

“Caltrans takes these allegations with the utmost seriousness and is unwavering in holding those involved accountable,” Rocco said in a statement.

“We quickly launched an investigation and have taken immediate disciplinary action. The behavior described has absolutely no place in our department and stands in direct opposition to our values and ethical standards.”

Good point. Gavin held a party with alcohol at the French Laundry during the COVID lockdown and noone was disciplined. Why are those people held to a different standard?
