Innovation is coming to Marina. After CSU Monterey Bay put a kiosk to help students with personal safety and parking tickets, Marina Police Department decided to put one of their own up.
On July 2, Mayor Bruce Delgado, Police Chief Tina Nieto and Police Sgt. Bryan Whittaker held a ribbon cutting ceremony to introduce Marina's own kiosk and lobby computer enabling members of the public to do things like file police reports online, pay parking tickets and file parking citation disputes. Crime reporting is available for crimes with no suspect information, such as lost property, theft, vandalism and identity theft.
“It increases the efficiency of our staff on duty and it gives one more option to the people so they can choose what they want to do," Delgado said at the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The city joined forces with the Parking Management Bureau for the kiosk. The Parking Management Bureau provides parking ticket processing for various CSU campuses and community college throughout California.
The city installed the computer in the lobby, and it it will be free for members of the public to use.
"It is all about easy access and customer service for our residents and visitors,” says Donna White, commander of the administrative services division at Marina PD.
