The first nugget of Monterey Jazz Festival news confirms that the 58th annual event goes down September 18-20, 2015.
Now, for some of the more exciting developments:
MJF 58 Artists-In-Residence: Jazz at Lincoln Center with Wynton Marsalis
MJF 58 Showcase Artist: Chick Corea
MJF 58 Commission Artist: Ambrose Akinmusire (he’ll be writing at the Glen Deven Ranch in Big Sur)
The rest of the MJF 58 performers that I can reveal: Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Dianne Reeves and Snarky Puppy
Tickets go on sale to the general public on May 15, single-day tickets go on sale June 5.
Next Generation Jazz Festival happens March 27-29.
