As always, it's the luck of the lottery.
The participating stores don't even know what they'll be getting in for RSD until a few days beforehand.
Since most titles are special limited runs, not every record store in the country is able to carry every RSD title.
Each store puts in an order and hopes that the order is filled as completely as possible, so that's why it's smart to do some record store hopping on RSD; every spot will have different RSD inventory.
It helps keep it interesting.
And it gives the early birds an excuse to wait outside a locked door three hours before opening time.
