WM from Rec Trail

Between the produce, cafe, wine tasting on ongoing events, no shortage of intrigue exists at Wharf Marketplace, seen here from the Rec Trail.

Two words: Cornhole tournament.

The Wharf Marketplace (649-1116) has established itself as dynamic venue and hub for fresh produce, cheeses, wine, local beer, coffee, cafe grub and seafood. Now some additions and subtractions, including said cornhole, have it changing.

First off, Robbie’s Oceanfresh Seafood (212-0231) has left, but you can still get his fish, shellfish and oysters at the end of Wharf II or via the number above.

The cornhole tournament ($20 entry includes beverage and donation) starts today (Sept. 3) at 5pm and continues Sept. 13 (noon) and Sept. 17 (5pm),with the championship on Sept. 27 (5pm).

Proceeds benefit Tour de Fresh mission to bring salad bars to schools.

Also today: Taste It Thursdays—4:30-7:30pm small free tasting with discounts on bottles)—stars a triple bill with Mission Trail CiderMadOtterAle and Wrath Wines.

Sept. 10 hosts Liberated Wine; Sept. 17 is a surprise guest; Sept. 24 is Antle Wines.

Also: Monday through Thursday locals can park free for two hours by the Harbor Master office with county ID.
