Gorilla peering in at Rosine's cakes.

Guy Fieri dressed as a gorilla for the "DDD" showing tonight. Not really. That's from a photo shoot after the Weekly readers voted Rosine's Best Cakes in Monterey County.

Guy Fieri of "Diners, Drive-Ins and Divesfame has found two more reasons he's obsessed with Monterey County, which might as well be renamed Flavortown.

Lasagna.

And minestrone.

That's the rustic, rich and delicious goods Jim Culcasi cheffed up with Fieri and will star in tonight's episode on The Food Network.

I broke through the secret shooting hush—and broke word—that Fieri was sniffing out local charm spots for "DDD" back in April.

Rosine's certainly fits the formula the show follows: it's family-run, home-spun, tall on flavor and tall on cakes.

The downtown Monterey pillar will be featured tonight (Friday, July 18) at 10pm on local cable.

DirecTV showings happen at 7pm in addition to 10pm, then there are showings throughout the weekend.

Last weekend, line-out-the-door Monterey Fish House was on the "DDD" plate.

Last month, the crazies at Loulou's Griddle in the Middle had a blast with abalone sliders and the bleach blonde madman.
