Keifer Sutherland as Jack Bauer

Fox's hit drama 24 originally ran from 2001 to 2010.

Breaking news: Turns out Chuck Norris wears Jack Bauer underwear.

And that the Most Interesting Man in the World doesn't watch TV every day, but when he does, it's 24.

Those two will be among the throng primed to watch the wildly popular action drama 24 continue after a four-year hiatus and stalled movie talks, starting in its weekly time slot tonight at 8pm on Fox. The two-hour season debut was last week and available through on demand.

Co-creator Robert Cochran is an area native and graduate of Monterey High.

The Weekly profiled Cochran back when the series was relatively young.

Check out that piece, "Faster Than Life: Former MHS Toreador and co-creator of Fox sensation 24 talks creativity," here.

As Cochran recalls in the report:

“One day, my sometime partner Joel Surnow called me and said, ‘I have a great idea for a TV show,’” Cochran recalls. “‘Twenty-four hours, 24 episodes.’

I said, ‘I don’t think it can be done. What genre would it be? Who would be the characters?’

“He said, ‘I don’t know.’

“I said, ‘Don’t bother me anymore.’

“He replied, ‘You always said you wanted to do something different. Meet me at IHOP.’”

The story also discusses how 9/11 affected the original script, how its creators found star Keifer Sutherland for the role and how they trailblazed a willingness to kill off lead characters (well before Game of Thrones), use real time split screen action and tackle terrorism as a driving theme.

24: Live Another Day jumps across the Atlantic to pick up the blistering pace, with Chloe O'Brien along for the ride.
