Annie Bosko

Croatian-American country star, Annie Bosko, is the California cowgirl, as a title of her album indicates. She is at the top of the Boots on the Green festival's lineup of artists.

There is a lot of live music in Monterey County. That includes Seaside, where Blues in the Park returns on July 12 to Laguna Grande Park. Thanks to Deja Blue, we often have soul, jazz and rap music in town, while Palenke Arts produces shows featuring international artists in a variety of styles. The iconic dive bar, Sportsman, provides a punk or metal music fest from time to time. But what about country music?

Boots on The Green is a country festival which comes to Seaside in September, along with Croatian-American country star Annie Bosko (8pm), Canadian-American singer-songwriter Aaron Goodvin (6:30pm), Jakota Wass (5pm) from Nevada and Santa Cruz-based Americana band Kentucky Mule (4pm). This one-day event will take place at Bayonet and Black Horse.

The event will include five bars, a vendor village that includes everything from tacos to baked potatoes, and line dancing classes. Tickets are on sale now, starting at $67, with VIP options also available.

Boots on the Green takes place 4-10pm Saturday, Sept. 12 at Bayonet and Black Horse, 1 McClure Way, Seaside. $67-$135. pjones@bayonetblackhorse.comtinyurl.com/CountrySeaside.
