Greenfield High School

Voters will decide if district consolidation moves forward. If it does, Greenfield High School will become part of a TK-12 district in Greenfield.

After being postponed for discussion several times, the California State Board of Education approved the petition to merge three school districts into two in South County, leaving a TK-12 in King City and Greenfield.

Currently, three school districts operate in these cities: Greenfield Union and King City Union, both TK-8, and South Monterey County Joint Union School District, which operates four high schools including Greenfield and King City high schools.

"For more than a decade, countless people have worked tirelessly toward this moment because they believed our students deserved a stronger and more connected educational experience,” said Laura Cortez, superintendent of Greenfield Union School District.

Monterey County Office of Education will call for a unification election 35 days after receiving the approval from the State Board of Education.
