Pfeiffer Fire destruction

Fundraising efforts continue apace for victims of the Pfeiffer Fire, and an inspiring video released yesterday from Big Sur resident Trey Kropp highlights just how much damage the fire did, and the defiant spirit of those who stayed on to fight it.

Kropp, along with several friends, jumped into the heat of the battle shortly after the fire broke out, an effort that helped saved several structures, including the Morgenrath home.

But many of Kropp's friends still lost everything in the fire, and his video a renewed call for the community to give anything they can at bigsurfire2013.org, a website set up for fire victims that funnels 100 percent of monetary donations to affected residents.
