Lauren Shera's one of those undeniable talents who seems to be perpetually on the cusp of breaking big.
Taylor Swift big.
Shera embodies that indescribable essence that translates into fame—you either have it or you don't have it.
The Monterey County native, who's been living in Nashville for the past couple years, has definitely had nice glimpses of stardom: She's opened for Phil Lesh and Jason Mraz.
She also performed the sold-out Bob Dylan tribute concert at New York City's Lincoln Center in November 2006. There, Shera played "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" with a little help from Gov't Mule's Warren Haynes.
Shera hasn't had that break yet. The kind of break that has her headlining sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden.
But she's knocking louder and louder with everything she creates and Gold and Rust, which hit the streets today, is Shera at her absolute best. It's a throwback to hazy California folk of the late ’60s with a modern twist.
