In what marks the most anticipated opening in Carmel Valley since Lokal debuted in winter 2012, Trailside Cafe Carmel Valley (298-7453) aims to soft-open as soon as today.
It takes over the former Toast space next to Chock Rock and across from Kasey’s on Del Fino Place.
The formula will be similar to what has made Trailside's original location, on the Rec Trail a block up from Cannery Row, a community institution.
The last time I visited the line snaked out the door—and then some—for the robust Benedicts, fresh fish tacos and sugar-dusted beignets.
Nice coffee and craft beer selections too.
More on TCII and what it means for the original outpost soon.
