One man is a dead and another wounded after a double shooting on Sunday night in Salinas.
According to a press release from the Salinas police department, just after 6pm, officers arrived to 169 Orchard Ave. after residents reported hearing gunshots in the neighborhood. Police found 23-year-old Jorge Mosqueda suffering from a gunshot wound; a 24-year-old man whose name was not released was wounded.
Both men were taken by ambulance to Natividad Medical Center. Mosqueda was rushed to surgery, but died from his injuries. The other man was treated and released.
According to the press release, one suspect was seen running from the area after the shooting.
