Salinas city officials have snatched Seaside’s former community and economic development manager to lead the implementation of the city's economic development plans.
Lisa Brinton will work as a senior planner for Salinas, which has a big focus on expanding its agricultural technology front. During her eight years in Seaside, Brinton’s accomplishments included development agreement approvals for In-N-Out Burgers and Tesla Motors.
In Salinas she will be in charge of administering the city’s planning, economic development and redevelopment along with Economic Development Manager Andrew Myrick.
Brinton will be earning a base salary of at least $97,830 annually, compared to her base yearly salary of $88,469 in Seaside.
"I'm excited to become part of a community and City team with a plan of action to provide safety, jobs and a healthy environment for residents," Brinton said in a press release.
"We're very glad to be able to welcome Lisa Brinton to our team," said Megan Hunter, the City's Director of Community Development. "She'll play a key role in helping Salinas realize its vision of an economy that is prosperous, healthy, and environmentally sustainable."
