No matter your mood, Bashar will get you in the groove with his super-freaky oud. The atmosphere at this tiny Carmel-by-the-Sea spot is at least as infectious as the food is delicious. Stuffed grape leaves with herbs and rice, Istanbul kebabs with lavash bread and Turkish spices and a gyros plate served over rice with a Greek salad all present excellent examples of why Dametra is the best in Byzantine cuisine. Pair any of those with a great selection of local and imported wines to round out the meal. Get in, eat up and dance when the time comes without feeling like a total Greek.
