I think people need to invest more in downtown Monterey. The “downtown” scene is pretty uneventful and it’s nothing but British bars! How about a cool retro arcade game bar or a bar with a rooftop patio? Or how about a bar with an outdoor area where you could play bags/washers/volleyball?
