ECO-INTERNSHIPS | BIG SUR – Ventana Wildlife Society is offering one-week volunteer internships to assist with a California condor restoration program and avian research and education projects, providing a rare opportunity for close encounters with the endangered scavengers. Preference given to local college students pursuing careers in avian or wildlife ecology. Must be 18 or older. One-week internships happen July 25-29, Aug. 1-5 and Aug. 15-19. LITERACY CAMPAIGN | COUNTYWIDE – To promote increased literacy, the Community Foundation for Monterey County has launched the Literacy Campaign, a new nonprofit. Its first project is conducting an assessment of current literacy levels to identify unmet needs.
