The Sacramento-based California Budget Project has taken a stab at estimating the pain the governor's proposed $2.7 billion budget cuts will inflict at the county and school district levels.
Monterey County will lose an average of $318 in per pupil spending, according to the CBP analyis.
The CBP's district level analysis shows tiny Pacific Unified estimated to lose a whopping $1867 per pupil while per student funding at Monterey Peninsula Unified is projected to drop by $304. Detailed district by district estimates are available at cbp.org.
The figures don't include an additional budget cutting proposal by the administration to reduce funding to the state's class size reduction program for grades K-3.
