A 22-year-old Salinas man was fatally shot at his front door Sunday night, according to the Salinas Police Department. An unknown gunman knocked on Jose Alonzo's door about 10 p.m. and shot him multiple times in the torso. Alonzo died from the wounds after being airlifted to a San Jose hospital. The killing brings the city's homicide total to 21 this year.
