Photographers Rachel Phillips and Lucien Liu share a fascination with spiders and spider art – that is to say, spiderwebs. Looking at nature closely is essential to their artistic practice. While Phillips considers herself “more of a printer than shutterbug,” Liu describes himself as a Chinese visual artist who employs photography as his primary medium. Natural Order is the title of their shared exhibit at the Center for Photographic Art located at the Sunset Center, 908 San Carlos St., Carmel. An opening reception and walk-through takes place from 4-6pm Saturday, Oct. 17. The gallery is open from noon-4pm Wednesdays-Sundays. On view until Nov. 29.
