Monterey Museum of Art is back with Iluminado, a 22-day series that invites the community to become part of an art installation. Multimedia artists Hanif Wondir and Domini Anne collaborated with photographer Joe Ramos, creating an immersive, multi-elemental sensory experience for visitors. This year, the museum’s holiday trees are made by a group of local and regional artists, who prepared engaging art prompts to activate viewers. The artists are Edi Matsumoto, Elizabeth MurrayMark SchlegelJP Frary, as well as Sea Sevilla and Avelino Sanher-Hernandez of La Neta Murals. Iluminado opens 5-8pm Friday, Dec. 5 and will remain open through Dec. 22 All activities and access to the museum are free during that time. Monterey Museum of Art is located at 559 Pacific St., Monterey. Museum hours are 11am-5pm Thursday through Sunday.
