John Pisto’s Whaling Station wins again, make no mistake...did someone just say “steak?” Why yes, and in fact while we’re on the subject, let’s mention Pisto has a secret blend of spices he deploys on his high-quality cuts of meat. There’s an in-house dry aging room; diners can even pick out their cut of top sirloin, chateau sirloin, natural rib-eye and others from a silver tray. Petite filet mignon and New York steaks are available to those without large appetites or who want to sample more menu items like the live Maine lobster or the Dungeness crab risotto. Two rules to adhere to when coming to the Whaling Station: 1. Don’t bring a date who will only order salad, and 2. Don’t ask for any cut of meat to be cooked well-done.
